-
Hole 2 , 415m , par 4
A tough par 3, with an island green. The green is surrounded by fairway for the amateur golfer a good tee shot should land you in the middle with a medium iron or long iron for beginners. Par will always be a good score on this hole.
-
Hole 3 , 285m , par 4
A medium par 4 of 380 metres, with a dogleg left. The second shot will require skills as the green is hidden left behind a large bunker and trees. This hole is a likely Par hole for the experienced golfer. The average golfer may opt for a three shot approach making par difficult.
-
Hole 4 , 145m , par 3
This is a medium distance Par 4. Accuracy and landing on the fairway gives you an easy short iron to the green which is protected on both sides by bunkers but is relatively straight forward. This should be an easy hole to score big on.
-
Hole 5 , 400m , par 4
A simple par 3 of 180 metres long. With a large bunker at the tee to scare the beginner this hole is surrounded by three bunkers and the greens are designed to fall into these hazards if you overshoot the green. Par should be a regular score on this hole.
-
Hole 6 , 365m , par 4
This is another long Par 5 hole of 490metres.the drive to the fairway is relatively straight but the approach shot is a dogleg right to a hidden green next to a water feature. If you overshoot the green the hazard will come into play but generally an easy hole to play with a three shot approach.
-
Hole 7 , 200m , par 3
A medium distance par 4 of 400metres. The hole has bunkers on left at mid-point for the short hitter and water to the right for the daring long hitters. The green is has water to the right and a bunker to the left. The keen golfer should aim for the middle of the green. A second shot from the right hand side eliminates the water but remember the drive needs to be accurate.
-
Hole 8 , 510m , par 5
A long Par 3 of 210metres. The use of the long irons will need to come into play. This hole offers little challenge if you can land on . short tee shots will be punished by the rough. This is a good hole to walk off with a par.
-
Hole 9 , 490m , par 5
A short par 4 290 metres, this hole is drivable if you are a long hitter. The green is hidden right of the line of drive and surrounded by bunkers. The hole is relatively easy to get a par on and has potential for eagle. This should relax you after a round of nine holes. Get ready to repeat the rhythm but on different tees
-
Hole 10 , 380m , par 4
A fairly generous hole, should you avoid the water hazard running pretty much on the entire right side of the hole. Position off the tee will leave players a medium length shot into this tough green, with water guarding the right side. As on a number of holes on the first nine, par on this hole is always a good score.
-
Hole 11 , 160m , par 3
A demanding par 3 hole, with a water feature guarding the right side of the green. Most players should have a medium to short iron into the green, and a safe shot to the left side of the green would be the best play on most days. A very rewarding hole to score well on.
-
Hole 12 , 390m , par 4
A medium par 4, playing slightly uphill to a well-guarded green. A good score on this hole would set players up for the rest of the second nine, where every aspect of their game would be tested, especially their mental strength.
-
Hole 13 , 540m , par 5
An exciting par 5, playing across a series of sand traps and elevation changes. This hole turns left after the tee shot, with a double dogleg to the right at the green. Strategic play to the larger areas in the fairway could leave players with a birdie opportunity.
-
Hole 14 , 300m , par 4
A short risk and reward par 4, with two water features and a stream dividing the fairway into two. Players can lay up safe or attempt to carry the stream, and position their drive between the lake and bunkers surrounding the fairway. A hole where lots of birdies will be made, but maybe even more bogeys…
-
Hole 15 , 435m , par 4
A classic long par 4, with a fairly generous fairway playing between some large trees, to a fairly open green. A series of swales surround the green and the fairway short of it, so players would need to sharpen up their short game skills to score well here.
-
Hole 16 , 150m , par 3
A stunning par 3 played through a forest, straight at an old chimney tower. With the hole surrounded by ancient fig trees, and the old chimney from the sugar mill watching over the green, this must be one of the most appealing settings on the island. The gentle contours on and around the green, combined with the historic setting, makes your heart long for times gone by, shots you have always wanted to play, and pull of ever so often…
-
Hole 17 , 400m , par 4
Probably one of the toughest holes on the course, provides the challenge for the pen-ultimate hole. A good classic long par 4, with a slight dogleg to the right, and a well bunkered green will ensure plenty of action at the end of your round. A good drive to the turn of the hole, will leave you with a mid to long iron into this green, which is cut into a gentle rise. You can’t see the bottom of the pin, but any shot that finds the putting surface, will provide you with the best chance of a strong finish.
-
Hole 18 , 500m , par 5
A hole that is bound to give up many birdies, but if you let a shot get away, it could be an expensive hole. A big sand trap protects the right hand side on your drive, and a good drive that finds the fairway, will tempt you to have a go at a green protected by water on the right. Depending on how far you can carry the ball, each player will face a different challenge. Should you find your ball beached off the tee, the hole becomes really interesting, but even with a safe strategy, a good third shot could leave a realistic birdie putt. As the ball disappears into the hole, you think about a great day out, and can’t wait for your early tee time the following day.
